Greece wasn't a united country it was a collection of separate lands where Greek speaking people lived. Greece consisted of a peninsula now known as Greece and around 2,000 islands in the Aegean and Ionian seas. Greeks used the Aegean sea, Ionian sea, and the Black sea. Mountains covered 3/4 of ancient Greece which made travel hard and long. Because of the mountains it made farming hard so not many people lived in Greece at a single time only around a few million lived there.
