The agricultural revolution was also known as the Neolithic age. During this time populations significantly rose. Hierarchies appeared in village life.. The invention of the wheel and later plow played a big part in this age. Many villagers were polytheists.  The district of Sumer was between the Tigris and Euphrates river. Cities were founded with some with as many as 40,000 people. A pantheon of gods and goddesses emerged. The worlds first surviving epic was the Sumerian "Epic of Gilgamesh", which told of a great flood.The Sumerians divided the hour into sixty minutes and the minute into sixty seconds, they also created a calendar.
