Socrates the early years- Worked as a stone mason as a young man, he fought in the Peloponnesian war. His background may have shaped the way he viewed the world.
Socrates Teacher- He met with young students in his workshop in the Agora. His method was to ask a series of questions to determine their beliefs and the extent of their knowledge. His method led to the scientific method.
Socrates Controversy- Athens was a great city that attracted brilliant thinkers, people came from all over the world for astronomy, medicine, meteorology, literature, philosophy, and all things scientific. His teachings often went against traditional thinking.
